Orange Jello Salad

Yup, it's a classic creamy jello salad. The one that you always laugh about, but when it presents itself at a party always gets gobbled up quickly. If you want to make it look a little fancier go ahead and put some cut fruit on top right before it finishes setting. Yesterday, I decided to make one for my Book Club later in the evening to add to a tropical themed buffet table. I hoped everyone would love it...

I just have two things to report, and then you can get whipping. One, the jello salad did all get eaten at Book Club and, two Jello Salad is very difficult to photograph and make look interesting.

1-3 oz package orange jello (or flavor of your choice)
1-8 oz package plain cream cheese, softened
1 package Dream Whip (2 cups prepared)
1-12 oz can crushed pineapple
  1. Combine dry jello and softened cream cheese in a medium bowl. Beat until smooth.
  2. Prepare Dream Whip according to package directions in another bowl.
  3. Drain pineapple, reserving juice. Add enough water to pineapple juice to make 1 cup of liquid. Place this liquid in a medium pot and bring to a boil. Take off heat, stir in jello/cheese mixture. Stir until smooth and creamy, put in a serving bowl and let cool slightly. Fold in Dream Whip and pineapple. Refrigerate until set.
