Caroline's Burgers

We have a lot of great recipes on this blog, some that I absolutely love. And there are so many different types of food that I just can't get enough of - for me that would mainly be Mexican and Italian dishes. But when all that is said and done I will always have to say that my favorite thing to eat is a good burger (or at least in the top 3). Specifically, a grilled burger; in my mind that is the only way to have a burger.

After many years of grilling burgers, I have, in my mind, perfected the ultimate summer burger. It is perfect because it is delicious, and I admit whenever I make them I get lots of compliments, so I think that I am not alone in thinking this is one fine burger.

There are many fantastic gourmet burgers out there, and while I don't know that this is in the ranks of a gourmet burger, it is easy to make at home with ingredients you likely have on hand. Also, it has oats in it, making it a healthy burger - right? So start your grills, light the Independence Day fireworks and enjoy one of the greatest things of summer, grilled hamburgers.

Caroline's Burgers
Recipe and pictures by none other than Caroline
Makes about 8 burgers

1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
3 white mushrooms chopped fine
1/4 cup red onion, chopped fine
1/2 cup rolled oats
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 cup Montreal Steak seasoning
Hamburger Buns (I prefer seeded buns myself)
Hamburger fixins': Mayo, ketchup, onion, tomato, lettuce and cheese

Directions:
Mix all ingredients. Divide meat mixture into 8 equal sized balls, flatten with hands, and put on preheated grill. Grill for approximately 7 minutes per side or to your desired doneness. Prepare your bun and enjoy!

I had a dreadfully dry, disappointing burger at the last grill party I attended. I need something to make up for it. This looks like the answer.
